Reflection on a Saying of a Desert Christian: Abba Moses the Black 8

“It is impossible for a monk to have Christ continuously in his heart without silence, humility, and unceasing prayer,” the same elder used to say.ā€

Unceasing prayer is another tricky concept especially I think for those of us who have a more cognitive approach to the world. For those of us, such as myself, who consider ourselves to be on the mystic path, we come to the realization that every aspect of life is charged with the presence of God. From the most mundane thing to the most sublime, God is with us in it all. If we choose to live every moment for God, we are praying unceasingly.
